The Port Washington Public Library has been serving the community since 1892 when it was housed in a local family’s front parlor. Today we are a modern service-oriented institution. The Port Washington Public Library is a center for community engagement, knowledge, and personal enrichment.
The Library serves the Port Washington School District and is funded primarily by local taxes levied on real estate. There is no charge for school district residents to join. Your library card entitles you to borrow materials from any public library in Nassau County. Materials borrowed elsewhere may be returned here.
Take Long Island Expressway to Exit 36, Searingtown Rd. Continue north 4.1 miles on Searingtown Rd crossing Northern Boulevard. Turn left onto Main St. Library will be on your right after .7 miles.
